“You bear God within you, poor wretch, and know it not.”
Epictetus, Roman Philosopher
During a time on Earth.
I am making my final preparations to enter into what seems the abyss, but in all actuality I am heading straight into the very heart of the very reason I was granted a life on earth and a precious body to carry out a mission I feel unprepared for. I am alone. My name is Thea. My parents, now gone from their respective earthly positions, gave to me this time fated for this life that I walk. I carry a faint, light blue memory from old of etching my name out of sound, agreeing to this mission in honor of the teachings passed forward by those who have since taken their leave of this earthly plane, those to whom I am grateful.
And so it is...
The mission I am about to undertake is that of reestablishing between nature and humanity a balance based on respect and integrity. For this mission I have been provided a detailed map of the four regions North, South, East and West that make up the forest.
Death is fast approaching what was once a flourishing woods of gardens and streams and gems and critters and birds. Its inhabitants once shone as stewards who regarded the life surrounding them as crucial as the life they carried within them—or at least most carried within them.
There was it seems a family in the North that saw otherwise and that fast created an illusion of equal concern for the life surrounding them. Their real concern was solely for the family’s power and wealth, even at the cost of the life of the forest and all its dwellers.
Then an unfortunate fortunate event occurred. A fire raced through the North end of the forest without warning, taking with it the entire family except for one son, considered the black sheep. Left with but a few material goods, this son, despite his situation, vowed to carry on the family tradition. Now he would rule. Meet Hatchet from the North Village of Shadows.
I study the map and learn that my base is in the East Village of Skald, where the sun rises, and in the now deserted South Village of Shalimar, known for its lush gardens, and, finally, in the West Village of Shayba, with its gems that vibrate under foot and where the Sun lays its head and where reside the last of the forest dwellers—they who have brought me here.
On this journey I am about to meet old friends, new friends and winged friends of two sorts. Face my demons and someone else’s.
On this journey I will be given challenges that appear insurmountable and given lessons that turn the journey inward.
On this journey I discover my weaknesses and my strengths. I learn essential love and meet the “High One.” I am not alone.
On this journey I realize that it is everyone’s journey and that we are all in the forest with choices to make.
On this journey I learn the freedom of forgiveness and know it to be a gift.
On this journey I see the value of “Free Will” and accept with great delight its proper use in order to fulfill my mission.
On this journey I wish for all earthlings to recognize and value and live their purpose rather than another’s design for them.
Cultivate discernment and seek only the highest of truths. Question, Question, Question...
On this journey I wish for you Life in Abundance.
A delightful, magical story. Spiritual laws imbued ; layered with true depth and wisdom. An adventurous journey to
the center of our inner being. Thea makes a heartfelt proclamation to the true test of "awakening", and finds herself, in her
community, along side enemies and spirits, which is to find the true solution for the human spirit; LOVE.
A wonderful story for all; ageless, timeless and universal...
Colleen ~ Thea lives! After a first reading, I'm into the second, discovering the deeper meaning in the words, the story. Your gift of inspiration, listening to the Teacher within, faithfulness, sharing Thea's message with the world - may words of thanks to you are feeble.
LC says it much better: if it is Your will, let me sing!
much love -
It has been a long time since a book has touched me so deeply. This is a wonderful and wise journey of discovery of one's true purpose. It is written in a wonderful prose/story-telling style that is a pleasure to read. The lessons in the story can be applied to parts of my own life, and presents me with gentler, more loving paths to follow. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking their own true purpose.
As we travel with Thea on her journey...we see reflected in her our own.
A beautiful remembrance of what is so.
